This year's annual Memorial Day Parade and Observances has changed from prior events. Scouts are invited to attend any of the following items on May 28th
Sunrise Service @ Calvary Cemetery - Harry L Dr, 7:30 AM
Morning Service @ Floral Park Cemetery - 8:15 AM
Memorial Day Parade - Scouts will mark from St. James Church on Main St, through downtown to the gazebo at N. Arch St. After a brief ceremony, the parade will continue down N. Arch to the JC Senior Center. There will be pizza at the senior center afterwards. The parade begins at 10 AM and all Scouts - in Class A Uniforms - should be at St. James by 9:30 AM.
As we approach Memorial Day, Pack 100 pays tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of our veterans by placing flags at the gravesites of past service members. There will be two events - one at Floral Park and one at Calvary Cemetary.
The date/time for Floral Park will be Saturday, May 19th at 10AM. The Pack will meet directly inside the Floral Ave main entrance.
The date/time for Calvary Cemetery is Saturday, May 26th at 9AM. The Pack will meet at the chapel directly inside the Harry L Dr entrance. Calvary Cemetary is a large location and many hands are required to minimize the time required.
All participating Scouts must be in Class A uniforms and parental supervision is required (Floral Ave has some rough terrain and not all gravestones are stable).
Handy items for the cemeteries:
old screwdriver to make ground holes for flag stands or to clear out existing flag stands
The Pack family camp-out at Camp Tuscarora is scheduled for June 15th-17th. The Pack will be taking a hike to the Tuscy caves, having a variety of indoor and outdoor games, sports and a campfire program. Cost is $15 per person ($45 family max). Food and cooking gear to be provided by the Pack but everyone will share in cook duties and other general caretaking. Bunk in a lean-to (open front cabin) or bring your own tent.
